Apple continues to bring new and useful features to the masses, many of which we have tried to cover here at AppleToolBox. However, there are some tips and tricks you can use to make using your iPhone even easier, and once you learn them, they'll become second nature.

Disable always-on display
One of the first things you'll notice about the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max is the new always-on display. This allows you to simply look at your iPhone to see incoming notifications or check the time without having to touch the screen. If you're not the biggest fan of the always-on display or just want to save some battery power, you're in luck. Here's how you can turn off Always-On Display on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max:
- opensettingsen iPhone 14 Pro o iPhone 14 Pro Max.
- Scroll down and tapscreen and brightness.
- Scroll down again until you see itAlways.
- Touch the switch next toAlwaysto disable this feature.
Going forward, to view or interact with notifications and the lock screen, you must touch the screen or press the side button. Disabling the always-on display does not remove any other features from the device.
Turn on startup sound
Apple has made great strides in improving accessibility features in iPhone models. Along with Live Text, Apple Watch Mirroring, and more, iPhone 14 introduces the ability to activate a ringtone whenever iPhone is on or off. This is similar to the Mac, which also has a different sound each time the Mac is turned on.
As with many of these accessibility features, the iPhone 14's home chime isn't enabled by default.

Enjoy the 48MP camera
Apple's ProRAW was one of the defining features of the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max and continues to appear in new iPhone ads. This includes the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, this time ProRAW gets an update with a new 48MP main sensor.
By default, your iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max uses a 12MP image, which is still pretty good. But if you want to get the most out of your iPhone's camera, you'll need to enable ProRAW first.
- opensettingsapp on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tapCamera.

- make sure of thatProRAW Resolutionis set to48MP.
With ProRAW turned on, you can take 48MP photos with the main camera on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, it is not activated automatically and this is how you can take photos in ProRAW:
- openCameraapp on your iPhone.
- In the upper right corner, tap the iconCRUa button with a line through it.
- Align and crop your photo.
- tapsnapshotbutton.
Since 48MP ProRAW images are huge (around 100MB per image), you probably won't want to leave this on. Fortunately, you can turn the feature on or off right from the Camera app. Plus, every time you close the camera app and return to it, ProRAW will turn off, so you won't be left with 48MP photos out of pocket.
Stabilize your videos with action mode
Another novelty that will reach all iPhone 14 models is the operating mode. Basically, Apple has managed to improve image stabilization to the point where you no longer need to use a gimbal when shooting video. It's not enabled by default, but using action mode is incredibly easy.

- On the bottom slider above the shutter button, tapVIDEO.
- Tap the Action button in the top right corner.
By default, action mode is off and is indicated by a line on the Camera app icon. Once activated, the icon will change color and a small pop-up notification will appear saying "ACTION MODE". Just tap the same icon again to turn off Action Mode and another notification will appear saying “ACTION MODE OFF”.
Make sure crash detection is turned on
Glitch detection is another new feature available on all modern iPhone and Apple Watch models. This works thanks to the "High-g accelerometer" along with the built-in gyroscope, as your Apple Watch is capable of measuring up to 256g of force.

What is this dynamic island?
Despite its slightly odd moniker, Dynamic Island isn't an exclusive event that takes place on Apple's Cupertino campus. Instead, Apple says it's a "new design that provides an intuitive way to use your iPhone."
Rather than leave the camera cutout at the top as intrusive as the notch, Apple decided to change the game. Whenever Face ID is required, the island will expand and display the same Face ID logo and animations until verified.
If you open the Apple Music app, find a new song to listen to, and close the app, you'll see album art on one side and the equalizer on the other. Apple has even confirmed that Live Activities will work with Dynamic Island. You can see the current game score of your favorite team, updated in real time as the game progresses.

move your sim card
For the first time, Apple has released an iPhone model that does not include a physical SIM card tray. Instead, you'll now have to rely on eSIM, which is supported by all the major carriers in the US. And if you're upgrading an old iPhone to a new iPhone 14, Apple makes it (relatively) easy to transfer your phone number. to your new iPhone.
