According to a recent survey, Black viewers spend the most time watching streaming services, with 62% of those viewers saying streaming is the most relevant platform for stories depicting Black life and culture.Nielsen Diverse Intelligence Series report. Promoting Dismuke's efforts has the ultimate goal of providing Black viewers with quality, entertaining and relevant programming, particularly streaming via ALLBLK. "A lot of people of my generation grew up with the images that we have and could see," he said. "Now that we are able to control these images, I take it upon myself to lead this ship."

Disguise monitoredthe 2020 rebranding of the Urban Movie Channel streaming service– formerly owned by BET founder Robert Johnson – joined ALLBLK and created a service that offers original screenplays and reality shows as well as short films for black viewers. Especially scripted series like the sitcompartners rhyme, starring legendary hip-hop artist MC Lyte, as well as the drama seriesshared a house(which premiered its fifth season last month) andset up a trap, have helped Dismuke grow subscribers and viewership for the service for consecutive quarters, according to AMC.

For Dismuke, the ability to get popular reality content from WE tv, e.g. B. The entrepreneurial executive and producer, who ran his own company So Chi Entertainment and also served as CEO of independent urban production company The Swirl Group before joining AMC Networks, said it's critical that black consumers have viewing options across platforms.

"Having access to a reflection of yourself can define or destroy how someone sees themselves," he said. "It's great that some big services and networks are offering a small portion of black content, but having services that focus on highlighting the great diversity of our stories is a complete game changer."

A star of the Ms. Pat Show, J. Bernard Callowaysaid the show's Emmy nomination is a validation of the quality of content BET Plus produces under Griffin's direction.

"It's great to be part of a project that made history for [BET Plus]," he said. "The nomination is basically the respect of our colleagues and the recognition of how good the program is."

Griffin said the recognition helps raise awareness for BET Plus and confirms its strategic business plan is headed in the right direction.

Emmy and Peabody Award-winning producer, journalist, and researcher at Stanford University's Brown InstituteGeraldine Moribasuccessfully combines the news and information originally produced by Allen Media Group across multiple distribution platforms to create a winning formula for black media.

Complementing Grio's exclusive news and entertainment website and foundational cable network Grio.tv, in 2022 Moriba launched Grio's broadcast network and mobile app dedicated to programming and featuring exclusive black voices. He also founded the Grio Black Podcast Network, which offers more than five weekly podcasts on political, social, and entertainment topics affecting black culture.
